About Me

Hello!  For starters, my name is Debbie and professionally I am a teacher of adolescent students who have been identified as having specific learning problems as well as emotional challenges. I live in upstate New York.   I hold a Master's Degree and a  Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration.  I also teach in a teacher preparation program at a local college.

I am the mother of a 20 year-old daughter and Aunt to 3 nieces and 2 nephews.  I am the Sister of 5 brothers and 3 Sisiters-in-Law, all of whom are younger than I am.  I am the daughter of my mother, living,  and my father, who is now deceased.  I am the niece of  3 Aunts and 3 Uncles and I have 4 Cousins.

I am "friend" to a number of people from different walks and times of my life.

I am a former member of a Roman Catholic religious community of women.  I am an ex-wife.  Since my daughter has recently left home to go to school, I now live alone, and mostly I enjoy the solitude that this affords me.

I enjoy reading and learning, but I do resist being told what to read and/or learn.  In fact, I resist most anything that I feel is being imposed on me arbitrarily.  This trait has not always served me well!!!

I have an analytical  intelligence and Math and Science are my favorite  subjects to teach.  For some reason, I appear to have an affinity for computers.   I am  comfortable with abstractions and I learn concepts better than details.

On the Myers-Briggs personality inventory, I am an INFP  with the scores  for Introversion and  Intuition being quite high.  I am pretty much in the middle between Thinking and Feeling.  On the Enneagram, I am a 5.
